DIGNITY

Image
They got dignity stashed away in some cold room  Their gloomy souls leave little room For inclusion into the bizarre blurry Awaiting the minced investiture. They vest grudgingly; On guessed premises and misinformed resolve You’re good they say, your words are measured You’re wise they say, your height reveals thus. You’re quick-witted they say, your sight hints so. So this noble investiture culminated Vesting and judging the moon and the stars. They wouldn’t the sun, or she’d burn back. She’s too balmy, the cold room might go stale. The angel of nature, a silent witness, Bemused and amused decided  to send a loud whisper to paradise, There was a shuddering guffawing heard. For who vests nature, Save for nature itself? These poor gloomy souls Need their room stacked. With warmth and joy and laughter If they are keen enough To hear a lover’s footsteps Who conveys a fresh stack of dignity. essyjeru@gmail.com +254726179789
